So I’ve been training for the Tower of Terror 10 miler, and I’m up to 8 miles with 5 weeks left to go. As if I’ve not already got enough on my plate with training, I’ve decided that since it’s a runDisney race and all, I’m going to do a Disney-themed race outfit. Yes, I’m totally going for it but nothing too extravagant. After all, the point is for me to 1) run the race and 2) finish, and I don’t see that happening for me with some of the elaborate costumes out there. (But kudos to those who can pull that off!) So, drumroll please, I’m going to be none other than…
Belle from Beauty and the Beast. Yeah, it makes the hair thing WAY easier since I’m already brunette. But I relate to Belle so much. She loves books and is a Daddy’s girl. She sings alot. And to top it off, the story originated from France (originally titled La Belle et La Bête) and I grew up studying French in school and fancy myself a Francophile! So actually this costume thing is more me channeling my inner Belle and not really a “costume” at all.
There are lots of helpful websites on how to put together outfits, and I am not even attempting to be one of those. But this gives you an idea of what is possible:
But adhering to the mantra “KISS” (keeping it simple, stupid), I will make the outfit Belle-inspired and simple. I’m staying away from the yellow look and opting for the blue peasant look instead. OK, so the blue’s aren’t an exact match, but hopefully everyone will get what I am going for! Red rose in hair, white apron, blue running shirt and skort. DONE!
And since we’re on the topic of dressing up, what are your plans for Halloween? Or if you are a runner, have you ever dressed up for a race? I’d love to hear all about it!

For Halloween my sister is dressing up as her own simple version of Pinocchio. She will have a yellow shirt with a big blue bow tie, a red skirt with a Jiminy Cricket Embroidered Patch sewn on, and we found a small clip on Pinocchio hat. You can’t beat a simple and cheap outfit/costume that looks good.

I agree-plus we can say we put the whole look together. Thanks for stopping by!
