I’ll admit it-I am not sorry at all to see 2013 come to an end. Call me a sourpuss, but the past few months have been tinged with sadness, family drama and stress. I am not one to set resolutions–see why HERE–but if I were, I would resolve to live intentionally in 2014. To live more in the moment with my family and friends. To focus less on my “to do” list and more on my “to be” list. To be more content in my situation and my surroundings. (Yeah, I’ll definitely let you know how that’s working for me! Easier said than done).
Cook healthier. Use my new juicer. Exercise more. Get back into running so I can complete another half marathon. Write more-both on my blog and the Disney site I am a contributor to, The Adult Side of Disney. Do more with music. Spend more time on adventures with my family. Fittingly, my kids are upstairs watching Up. I get choked up with that intro every time. Disney storytelling at its best–and with so little dialogue! “Adventure IS out there”, one of my favorite phrases EVER, is also something I am clinging to these days. I NEED for there adventure to be out there: some times where reality matches my “BELIEVE”, some “SOAR”-ing moments. 2014 is full of possibility and promise. I may be looking at the world with rose-colored glasses, but what’s wrong with that? I’d rather be a Tigger than an Eeyore anyday–no offense, Eeyore, but you can be a real buzzkill! And we don’t want THAT on New Year’s Eve!
So friends, as we embark on 2014, maybe we should be accountability buddies on meeting our New Year’s goals/resolutions? Care to share what you are hoping to make different in 2014? Let’s make 2014 a year to remember–Happy New Year, y’all!
