Scrolling through Facebook today, the following title GRABBED me and it was no April Fool’s Joke either: Ciao Bambino was naming its Best Summer Vacation Ideas. I’m listening… or should I say reading? Either way, my friend Sue from Field Trips with Sue shared her vacation spot of Crystal River, Florida on the Ciao Bambino list. Imagine a place where you can swim with manatees! Sounds like a one of a kind adventure for sure.
So this list got me to thinking: what places would I recommend as a “Best Summer Vacation” spot?
No, I’m not going to suggest Disney…and while you pick yourself up off the floor from shock, I will tell you why: I have not been to Disney World in summer since I was a teenager. My reason is simple-I don’t like the heat (kinda like Olaf in summer) and I don’t like mega crowds. Sure, there’s so much to do at Disney besides the theme parks that would keep you cool, but that’s a separate blog post. I will say that for one of these recommendations, we did not travel there in summer but I think it is a year-round destination, so for that, it earns a spot on my list!
