It’s National Margarita Day

February 22, 2016 by Sherry Boswell

margarita-day

Cheers, friends! It’s National Margarita Day! A holiday that MUST be observed. They picked the right day for this-it’s also my birthday 🙂 How did they know my favorite drink?

In honor of the day, I’m listing the Best Places to Have a Margarita.

Most of them involve travel spots, but one is a local Mexican hotspot that you probably have near you.

La Cava Margaritas for everyone! Left is a standard, the right one is the Jalapeno!

La Cava del Tequila, EPCOT, Walt Disney World

Of course, I have to have a Walt Disney World location on my list! The Jalapeno Margarita is my absolute favorite. When prepared by Pepe, my favorite bartender, I am in heaven! It is my race reward after a runDisney finish every time. Suddenly, the miles don’t seem so bad. Other popular choices are the Avocado Margarita and Passion Fruit. Me, I stick with the one I like every time.

Carthay Circle, Disney California Adventure Park, Disneyland

Moving to the West Coast, Carthay Circle has a divine drink list. We had drinks here before dinner after a the Star Wars Half Marathon Weekend, and I must say I was really impressed. I was having so much fun with my friends in the bar, I didn’t want to go to our table! Everyone tried something different, and this concoction was a creative fruity margarita, but I can’t remember the actual name (and notice no salt-I’m having to cut back!) I guess if I can’t remember, it must have been GOOD!

Stephanie’s on Newbury, Boston

This little gem of a neighborhood restaurant has a patio to die for where you can people watch on this iconic Back Bay street. And did I mention the fun drinks?

I had the Coronarita, a combo of a margarita and a Coronita for good measure. Sometimes you feel like a margarita, sometimes you feel like beer. This is their lovechild. Really refreshing on a hot summer day!

Lunch and margaritas at On the Border in Concord, NC with my bestie

On the Border, Nationwide

For a national chain of restaurants, they make dang good margaritas! You can go with the house special if you want to save a few bucks, or specialize

I should have more recommendations to add to this list after my adventures in Arizona. All for the sake of research, people!

Question: Where have you found the best margarita?
