You’ve probably heard of the two adults-only dining options onboard Disney Cruise Line ships, Remy and Palo. Disney cruise dining at Remy is fine French dining onboard the Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy, and Palo is Northern Italian cuisine on all four Disney ships. Yes, they are extra. Are they worth it? Absolutely! My husband and I shared a romantic dinner at Remy during our 7-night Western Caribbean cruise on the Disney Fantasy. Here’s our experience and why Remy should be on your bucket list.
Remember the Disney film Ratatouille? The title character is named Remy and is a gifted chef (albeit a rat). Disney Cruise Line chose to name its flagship fine dining restaurant after Remy. Simply put, this delightful dining experience had me at “bonjour” from the moment we arrived and were greeted with a red rose to our parting “au revoir.” For a romantic meal for couples, Remy is unparalleled.
Disney Cruise Dining at Remy
First question: why try Remy?
You’ve already paid for your cruise food, so why pay extra for Remy? Because it is a culinary experience and gosh darn it, you’re worth it! Actually, Remy may be a bit fancier or too French to satisfy every cruiser, but for those who really love outstanding food, impeccable service and a dining experience, reserving Remy for dinner is a MUST.

Here are all the offerings and prices for Remy:

Menus
The gourmet selection menus were crafted by Chef Arnaud Lallement of l’Assiette Champenoise, a Michelin 3-star restaurant just outside Reims, France, and Chef Scott Hunnel from award-winning Victoria & Albert’s at Walt Disney World Resort. No matter whether you choose from one of these tasting menus or order your own combination from the entrees categorized as Freshness, Sea or Earth, it is sure to be outstanding food.
Our 6:05 reservation meant a stunning view of the sunset as we enjoyed a complimentary aperitif of Prosecco, Grey Goose, Grand Marnier, cassis pearls, and dried pineapple. It even has a name: the Colette. What a way to start the evening!
Our server Tania was so wonderful and the perfect balance of attentive and respectful of our conversation.
We chose the tasting menus: I had Gout menu created by Scott Hunnel and my husband had the Saveur menu created by Arnaud Lallement. Since my husband doesn’t eat red meat, he enjoyed the more seafood heavy menu of John Dory, lobster, and scallop. I loved it because I was able to taste all 10 dishes!

We were also given a box of chocolates and handmade candies to take with us because we were so stuffed.
Executive Chef Benoit knows what he is doing in the kitchen-no Remy the mouse hiding in his chef hat! We were fortunate enough to chat with him at the end of our delightful meal.

Plus the logistics for your family is super easy. Our teen and tween did their regular dining rotation and our servers took excellent care of them in our absence. My two were the only ones at our table of eight since other couple had Palo reservations that night and their kids ate elsewhere.
