Are you ready for some football? My family and I are always GLUED to the TV this time of year with the playoffs leading up to the Big Game. Hosting family and friends for a game day party is fun regardless of which teams are playing. But one thing that is no joke is the FOOD. The party dishes must be on point and ready to score. Luckily, this Buffalo Chicken Dip and Chocolate Chip Cheesecake Bars will have guests doing a victory dance over these tasty recipes.
It’s Big Game Day! I get excited just hearing that lead-in music they play before the broadcasts. So I’m really excited about the big game. Besides loving football, I also love FOOD. So a football party is the combination of two of my faves. In honor of this epic sports battle, I’m pulling out my favorite recipes that really score with the fans!
The Touchdown: Buffalo Chicken Dip
A neighbor brought this to our neighborhood cookout, and everyone couldn’t get enough. It is the newest recipe in my repertoire for its ooey-gooey yumminess. Brace yourself-you won’t have leftovers. It’s a total touchdown-spike that ball in the end zone!
Ingredients:
1 package cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup blue cheese dressing
1/2 cup buffalo wing sauce
1/2 cup blue cheese
2 cups shredded cooked chicken
Cook chicken and shred well. Mix cream cheese, blue cheese dressing, and buffalo wing sauce. Add in 1/2 cup crumbled blue cheese and shredded chicken.
Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes. Serve with tortilla chips.
The Extra Point Conversion:
Chocolate Chip Cheesecake Bars
With only 4 ingredients, this is my go-to dessert that always earns rave reviews and seems more complicated than it is. Shh-don’t tell anyone. It will be our little secret!
Ingredients:
1 package cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup sugar
1 egg
1 package chocolate chip cookie dough
Take half of the cookie dough and press out in a pre-greased baking sheet. This will be the crust/bottom for the cheesecake bars.
In a bowl, mix cream cheese, sugar, and egg. Spread mixture over cookie dough. Use remaining cookie dough and sprinkle out over the cream cheese mixture.
Bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes.
Between the cheesy goodness of the appetizer and the sweet decadence of the cheesecake bars, your tailgaters will proclaim this game day spread a winning buffet!
What are some of your favorite game day dishes that score with your family and friends? Will you be watching the big game? For the game or the commercials or half time show? All of the above?
