Holiday Gift Guide for Disney Fans
Alex and Ani bracelets
I love these because they are inexpensive and stackable. You can wear a few of them or 10-12 at a time. And the fun comes in selecting which ones to buy. My favorites have some kind of significance or remind me of a Disney experience, like my first trip to Disneyland, my daughter dressing up as Tinker Bell, or BB-8 which reminds me of my Star Wars loving son. Price: $ 39.95-44.95.
Sphero Star Wars BB-8 App Controlled Robot
Speaking of BB-8, last year’s big hit at our house was the which can be remote controlled by phone. My tween played with his nonstop after Christmas last year, but adults were just as fascinated with it as the kids! In fact, he drew a crowd in the lobby of the Disney Fantasy driving it around during our Spring Break cruise.
and Star Wars Force Band
My son added this last year to his wish list: the Star Wars Force Band, which controls the BB-8 app-enabled Droid toy from Sphero through gestures like Force push, pull and drive. Put the phone aside and use this band to control the BB-8. Even cooler!
Or you can buy both together. Whatever you choose, I highly recommend you buy from a reputable dealer like Amazon or Bed Bath and Beyond because we had to leave ours out for Santa to return and bring a new one when ours stopped charging. Even so, I would wholeheartedly buy this little guy all over again, and we loved the addition of the Force Band.
Annual Pass
Show a Disney lover you care by gifting them the ultimate expression of Disney fandom: an annual pass. (Just make sure they don’t already have one first!) The price tag is a bit steep ($ 894) but if your Disney fan plans on traveling to Walt Disney World to do the parks more than a few times in a year, an Annual Pass may actually be a money saver. Here’s a great post by my fellow TravelingMom Amy about the Annual Pass.
Disney ornament
Disney geeks LOVE to decorate with Mickey, so why not add some bling to the Christmas tree with a Mickey Mouse ornament? I especially like this year’s Hallmark ornament of the Mickey Mouse Partners statue with Walt Disney.
Books galore
Disney themed books abound at bookstores and online, so it’s super easy to find something for Disney lovers in this genre. Try the Kingdom Keepers series, a Disney coloring book, or informative books about the Disney way like Disney U, Be Our Guest: Perfecting the Art of Customer Service or The Hidden Magic of Walt Disney World.
Disney Tees
You can usually spot a Disney fan a mile away by their clothing. T-shirts from The Home T and Happily Ever Tees are some of my favorites. The Home T has some of the softest shirts around, and they donate a portion of profits to MS research. Meanwhile, this is me sporting my Best Day Ever tee from Happily Ever Tees at the Wine and Dine Half Marathon in 2015.
Disney phone case
Disney phone cases are a fun way to show personality and protect a phone! Shop Disney has some of the best assortment of styles and sizes without having to travel to the D Tech On Demand store at Disney Springs..
Mickey Waffle Maker
Be the hero of breakfast with this Mickey waffle maker that serves up mini Mickey waffles! Cost: $14.69.
Spireside Candles
Spireside candles make a great holiday gift for a Disney fan. FHow could you go wrong with candles named Snowy White to Is It Christmas Yeti? It’s always been a treat to be transported via smell to familiar Disney scents like Tiki Daze (think Dole Whip) and Sunshine Groves (reminiscent of the orange groves in Soarin’). Handmade in Charleston, SC, Spireside is a small business success story worthy of supporting. Candles retail at $ 18; room sprays, wax melts and sample packs also available.
Anything Mary Poppins
In case you haven’t heard, Mary Poppins Returns on December 19th. I cannot wait to see this movie; the trailers have made me more excited for this release than I have been for a movie in a LONG time. It might have something to do with Emily Blunt looking amazing as Mary and Lin Manuel Miranda being in this one. So to get ready, watch the Mary Poppins 50th anniversary DVD.
OK so to be fair, I am a huge Mary Poppins fan. I had fun dressing up for Dapper Day at Walt Disney World with my friend Lori in our matching Mary Poppins dresses from Shop Disney.
Accessories
Amazon has these fun, festive holiday glow necklaces that are a popular find at the Disney Parks. Bring the magic home by donning these for holiday parties and festivities. Or perhaps the Disney fan may prefer a Mickey ear hat, holiday ears, scarf, or plush throw.
Vera Bradley hipster bag
Trust me when I say this Vera Bradley purse is the perfect park bag. I can fit the bare necessities like phone, camera, charger, lip gloss and my mouse ears in this bag perfectly and still feel comfortable wearing it over my shoulder. I know with the revolution of Magic Bands, we may not need to take a purse in the parks at all. But I’m still old school and like to have my stuff, and this lovely bag works great!
